Called to say that my computer infected

Number given supposedly by telephone preference service to report nuisance calls

said was from amazon, stating unusual activity on my account stating someone had purchased an iphone worth £1000.00,press 1 lalala it was a recorded message and not in person

Called by this number today. Rang and rang but stopped as I picked up. 1471 gave me the correct number but "Not Recognized" when I dialed it.

This comany called to tell me that I had downloaded a malicious file and it was slowing my computer down. Well, despite my undouting that this was scam call, my computer has actually been slow, so I thought I d humor myself and listen to what they had to say... they asked me to press the windows key on my keyboard, when I told the that I had a mac, they hung up haha!

Indian caller pretending that his name was Nigel and that he was from The call barring service . Knew surname of account holder and a partially correct address for the property (i.e. they d got the address from an address database, and not from us). Started a spiel about nuisance calls and how they want to get everyone onto the new government service - at which point I hung up on the shyster.
