This was not a spam call, it was someone wishing me a happy birthday.
Didn t get calls like this till I bought a new fone at Vodafone shop in leamington spa about 8 weeks ago ,keeping my number and sim card.Now calls about 4 a day. Think the salesman sells info on.
SCAM - says there is a tax fraud registered in my name and I need to press 1 - ended call immediately. Anything relating to tax would not be relayed across a phone call - HMRC would contact you via the post.

SCAM, heard about this call before. "HMRC" wanting to talk to me about an outstanding amount, and if I didn't press 1 and be put through to the right department, then a warrant for my arrest would be issued.
Indian woman called Jessie from Housing Disrepair Association. Told me I'd been reported as having damp in the home. Asked her what country she was calling from and what location which she wouldn't answer, she then wanted to know if I was a private or social tennant. Told her I knew she was a scammer, at which point she hung up.

Recorded message claiming that two charges had been received by my (unnamed) bank, one for Amazon (yawn!) and one for (unnamed) "Money Transfer". Obvious scam. Why can't these people find something useful to do, preferably a long way away?

These guys will claim that they are trying to close your file if you have had a car accident but all they are doing is phishing for more personal details. Told them I was speaking to my solicitors about them which hopefully will prevent further calls. They do not really help their cause for if you ring the number back an automated message says that it was a marketing call and you will be contacted again later. Idiots.

Advises that you have been experiencing problems with your broadband service, and in order to correct the problem, you must press number 1 (one) on your phone keypad to speak to their “executive”. Very well spoken male gave his name as Christian informed me my washing machine insurence had expired and he was calling with regard to me renewing it. I was suspicious of this and asked the name of his company which he informed me was White Goods UK. As I have never heard of them I asked which washing machine and he said theBosch. As mine is a Hotpoint I knew he was a scam or fraud. He then tried banter before resulting to cheek when the word police was mentioned I hung up before he could get offensive
