This number rings about 7 or 8 times in a week. Usually I let it go to the answerphone where they just keep saying "hello hello" and eventually realise it s not a person at the other end. Last week I was working from home so was expecting calls regarding work, when this number rang & I answered the phone. If they stay on the phone long enough, tell them you are another person answering the phone for you, it is not your phone and say you are deceased. I have found that helps stop it in a lot of cases. I was going to try it here but they put the phone down too quickly.

Silent call. I answered and they immediately hung up.
Fake caller pretending to be a hmrc and claiming there was tax fraud investigation and if I didn't answer I would arrested promptly, I pressed 1 and a person answered saying how can I help you today, this therefore told me straight away it was a scam as why does a hmrc officer need to ask me how they can help me if they called me. Don't continue with the unless you want to mess them around.
