This number called our business line today. When I answered, a man asked to speak to the business owner. Something about his tone and wording instantly set off alarms that this was a cold sales call, as we receive hundreds of them and I ve grown used to the language they use. I asked who was calling. He gave his name, but no more, so I asked what company he was calling from. He instantly got very defensive and accused me of interrogating him. Tried to establish the authenticity of this company, they are data mining, e.g. "may I start with your name please sir" etc... then trying to sell you some PPI Claim back from banks. Quick to hang up when questioned, of a dubious nature in my opinion.
This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range just with last digits different. A common thing - telemarketing mostly uses a range of similar numbers. This one is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, RTA - accident chasers, sometimes called themselves "First Call Group" - just another big call centre. Just block it or block the range, I have been using the mobile application from these pages, works fine, no problems. Blocked

I was contacted regarding a Sapphire Magazine subscription following completion of a survey. This number, based in Cardiff. Very plausible female. I foolishly gave them my debit card number. I realised later thus could be a scam and surfed the Internet and confirmed my suspicions! See Money Supermarket threads. I cancelled the bank card immediately.
