As everybody else said, an indian man called with lots of background noise claiming to be from Talktalk. He said there was a problem with the internet running slowly. Had I noticed this? I realised it was a scam and thought I d play along for a little. He asked if I had a PC or laptop so I lied and told him that I only had a tablet. Not sure what to label this - the call came on my work phone, no introduction, just an automated voice saying I would lose my national insurance number in court if I don't press '1' then it went silent, so I assume they wanted me to press the number and give them my bank deets
Call centre, claiming to be the Technical Department @ Virgin Media, wishing to discuss my internet access. I told her my number is registered with TPS and requested that all of my details are immediately removed from their database. She hung up without confirming whether she had complied. Strangely, her telephone number seems to be a landline in Germany and she is calling a UK mobile number. As I am not a Virgin Media customer, this is most likely a scam.
