I had a call from an immigrant this morning saying that they were from Microsoft, and that there was a big problem with my computer which they needed to fix. At this point I told them that they were too late, as someone from their number had already called me about the problem yesterday and fixed it for me. Phoned back, got some poor woman who was at a beauty appointment. Someone is managing to get around fraud prevention by spoofing the number sources.

They called me several times. When I answered they tried to sell advertising in the local post office.
Possible scam. Women said she was from Amazon and they'd noticed unusual activity on my Mum's account. Told her to press 1 if she hadn't bought something for £700. Mum was suspicious, rang off, got the number by dialing 1471 then rang it back. Women who answered refused to give her name and said she hadn't called Mum and didn't work for a company.
