Recorded message from a woman with an American accent pretending to be calling from HMRC, telling us or our solicitors to call her back or face legal action if we ignore the call. The call was made from the phone number she was telling you to call back on.

Called this morning just before 8.30 am. As the number was unrecognised it was allowed to go to the answering machine. The call was terminated almost immediately.

I was called on my mobile by this number on Friday morning 22/11/13 - they hung up when i answered. They rang back late afternoon - but i was in the pub and it was a bit noisy so i went outside but the christmas lights were being turned on in Kikby town centre and there was lots of noise - music, kids etc.. so it was noisier outside the pub than inside. Silence. Said "hello" a couple of times. After ~10 seconds a recorded woman's voice said "goodbye" and the call terminated.

I was cold called and told that as I was under 65 and drawing a deferred company pension I was entitled to a £1,000 pound payment. I asked who this was calling and all they would say was The helpline . I told them that I was registered with Telephone Preferences and that I should not receive such calls. I further told them to remove my name from their database.
