Got a call today from some guy asking for me by name (which I didn t acknowledge - I never do.) I immediately asked who was calling to throw him off his spiel, unfortunately he mumbled his "company" which sounded like s&l legal? and immediately launched into his sales patter regarding the mis-selling of PPI. Screechy female Indian telesales rep asking to speak to the manager, loads of background noise too. Definite spam call but don't know what they were selling as I ended the call.

just got a call from this number. the man on the other line - someone name john something - said he was calling from "Allied Interstate" about an unpaid debt. I said that he must be mistaken as I don t have any debt. He said "we will see" and asked for personal information. I hung up. Obviously not trustworthy!

Possible scam. Women said she was from Amazon and they'd noticed unusual activity on my Mum's account. Told her to press 1 if she hadn't bought something for £700. Mum was suspicious, rang off, got the number by dialing 1471 then rang it back. Women who answered refused to give her name and said she hadn't called Mum and didn't work for a company.
