When I managed to answer there was nothing to be heard from the caller's end so I assumed it was some dodgy scammer. Actually this is a 'spoof' number - one digit short for a genuine Manchester phone number.

After all the complaints, it beggars belief that these scammers are still using the same phone number and not been arrested. We are a computer repair business and have 2 telephone lines. Loads of calls in the last two days, number always changes, and they speak very fast in Indian. I got so annoyed I went through their "survey" which was just a phishing experiment and gave them a load of rubbish but made sure that at the very very end when they asked the question if you were OK to have other parties call about your answers I said "not ok" and he did repeat it back and said that no-one would call. We shall see !! Clearly a crappy company.

Had this number, 01619390228 call me a few times recently, they don t let the phone ring very long, have never left a voice message and on trying to call the number I get an engaged tone, will try to get to my phone quicker next time to answer, reckon it s a scam call, shouldn t be allowed !! SCAM / SPAM this number has called to say my internet will be disconnected in next 48 hours due to illegal activity on my account. It asks you to wait to be put through to an advisor. Virgin Media would not do this. Call disconnected by myself and blocked number. This was the same as yesterday but on a different number.

Called from this number 08.31 today - caller claimed to be from my bank and that there had been suspicious payments on my bank card. This was followed by the usual requests that I press numbers to confirm or reject these payments, I did neither just hung up and checked my bank information.
