Amazon scam from Asian call centre. Supposed fraudulent transaction on my Amazon account. Asked me to give six number code sent to me in SMS from Amazon - This was my two step verification code to change my password. All they need to get this sent to you is your Amazon account linked phone number. I did of course refuse.

Got a call today from some guy asking for me by name (which I didn t acknowledge - I never do.) I immediately asked who was calling to throw him off his spiel, unfortunately he mumbled his "company" which sounded like s&l legal? and immediately launched into his sales patter regarding the mis-selling of PPI. I let him ramble on for a few then interrupted him by saying I worked in the banking industry and could run rings round him with regards this. This is a Credit / Debit Card Protection Insurer number, cost me about 20 pence a minute, rang to cancel policy but had high call volume, so wrote by letter and last Direct Debit refunded.

Advice to anyone receiving sh*t like this: If you're really concerned it might be genuine, just phone your bank using the number on the back of your debit card. Then!
