Called by a Welsh lady saying they were handing out free grants for loft insulation -- did I have loft insulation? I immediately smelt a rat & asked who was calling. She simply said "a grant company". I asked what their name was. She was very evasive but eventually said "Nationwide Energy." I asked what their address was but said she didn t know(!). Scam! Caller wanted to advise me regarding "injury due to recent car accident." No accident; no injury. Avoid!
It seemed to be one of those calls about mis-selling of PPI claims but it was a person rather than an automated call. I didn't listen for long enough to find out.
Call from Indian Call Centre to house phone. Caller refused to give name and asked general questions. I cut him off and told him the call was being monitored and recorded. Phone went dead immediately ! !

Just heard of Wright stuff programme, 0845 numbers, even if it s only a second your phone provider is chargeing you like you called the number, people have had bills upto £300 and they will not listen to reason you supposedly called the number so you pay your extortionate bill, we live in a world of faceless thieves, beware

SCAM 01614303899 called me at 08:45 left it ringing until the call screening kicked in and they hung up straight away - probably someone else answered the mass calling device that was probably doing the dialling and the called tried to engage that poor unsuspecting victim. Typical nuisance call.

Silent call The owners of this number need to learn how to use an autodialler properly. Twice today (so far) I've picked up phone to silence at the other end. Whatever they're selling, I'd be reluctant to buy from a company that makes silent calls because they can't set up an autodialler correctly. Clue: You need people at YOUR end to speak to those who pick up. Amateurs!
