This number has been calling our TPS registered landline at least once a day for the last several days. Claims it is from a well known Telecom Company and Broadband provider (it is not). It is an attempt to get access to your computer. They will state that you have had broadband issues that they have picked this up from your hub (extremely unlikely, it is impossible to monitor every hub any ISP provides). It is an attempt to get remote access to your computer. ISP's do not use mobile numbers, they will always do a check as to who you are, these people do not even ask who you are as they do not know.

Missed call - Unknown number. Rang but left no message. I never answer unknown numbers due to the volume of scams. Any genuine caller would leave a message. Any polite caller would leave a message. Therefore this number is from a person who is neither genuine or polite. Not someone I wish to talk to!

Sent text message to my mobile claiming to be from BT - then asked name and BT number. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. Two hours later, the same message arrived on my wife s mobile. Clearly some sort of scam but I do not know what.
