Bunch of f*ckwits. Answered and they hung up; rang them back and it was some financial company but the lady apologised and said it wasn t from that number (weird) but to give her the number and she d tell them to stop calling me. Ar*e wipes. I hate the lot of them; they need to get a proper job.

Automated scammers wanting your credit card number. They have lists of names and mobile phone numbers mainly form Orange (stolen??). They pretend to be be either of the following Lloyds, Barclays and Natwest then all refernce to the bank's name is dropped. The land line remains as 01132230180 It is a poor copy of Lloyds bank's automated answering system.

I was frantically trying to meet a deadline, and had left the room for a moment when this call came. By the time I got back it had stopped ringing. After I had caught the post I returned and looked up the number. I am grateful to Stitchy for information provided. The most likely reason for the call was to offer services. I shall wait with interest to see if more information appears on Tellows.
