Colin, it's more than a nuisance. It is actually illegal to make a silent call. This should be reported to Ofcom.
Fraud. This number came from my mother's WhatsApp account informing me that she had changed her number to this one. She had not. Phone goes straight to voicemail. I have put this as fraud as they are fraudulently representing themselves as someone I know.

was called, supposedly, from HMRC and that I am about being accused for tax fraud and to press 1 to talk to an agent, otherwise I'd be arrested. Upon pressing 1 it directed me to a call centre where the accent of the recorded voice switched from British to American. Hung up right away
Second time they have called asking for someone who has never lived here as we bought the property when built. The next time I am phoning the Police to report them for harassment.

I get calls from this number, when I asked where they got my number from was told the standard lie "opt-in data" or "they bought a list of numbers". These people are liars as they wanted to help me reclaim money IF i had taken out any credit - I have never taken out any credit so they are just trying their luck and calling anyone and harrassing them. SCAM get about 3 or 4 of these sort of txts, saying from particular bank, mobile compamy etc. Obviously scam. For one, I'm not with any of the companies the txts state they're from. Blacklist these txts straight away.

They claimed they were HMRC and the police were coming to get me for not paying tax ? 1) They didn't know my name 2) Whether it was HMRC / Tax Office / whoever really, they would send a letter (not an email) to you not phone you !
