Got a text from that number at 14:28 today stating: "Hey mum I've smashed my phone, please message me on this number 447706598765 urgently x I'm texting of a friends phone". I checked with my child and they said they never contacted me, therefore this must be a scam.

Attempted scam. Fake number, been called several times. "I am calling from BT, there is a problem with your Broadband Line". Do not talk to them, do not let them access your PCs.
It's a company called RTA Legal Advice, looking to help you claim on an accident you probably didn't have....

repeatedly rings early evening. If asked the company or her name they hang up. They do not with hold their telephone number. rang them on their direct line 01792311578 and they gave me a false 0800 number to complain to. A repeat call to the direct line said they would get their customer service dept to ring me back. They never did. AVOID

Was called this morning about 10am was a recorded message, saying we need your authority to pass payment to amazon of £500, and also about a £1000 that needs authorising, the recorded message was crackling and hard to hear all but i just hung up. then did 1471 to see who it was as they made out it was my bank wanting authorisation.

SCAM They called me claiming to be BT Open Reach phoning about issues with my router. They did not know anything about my router as they asked irrelevant questions which do not apply to my Virgin router. very suspicious. I hung up on them before it went too far.

ACTIVE MART website seem to have build a fraudulent site around Atlantic Electronics Limited (a real trading company) and are using their London address to sell goods via a separate website. Active Mart state they are part of A&M Electronics Limited, also at the same London address. ACTIVE MART seem to be a SCAM website company - DO NOT BUY from them or give them your credit card details, when payment fails to go through they ask you to do a BACS Transfer of money to them - be aware!!!
I can see why this has received negative feedback, after you get past the first idiot whose only job is to get money no matter what you will get transferred to BT, I made them aware of the situation which will go through to their customer support. Like everything this service is out sourced so treated like debt collectors. Not SCAM, so all ok as of Sept 26th 2016

Having reported a fault to BT online, I received a call from this number. My (BT) screening phone did not let it through. I rang BT to ask about an engineer and said I had received a call from this number, I was told that, upon checking my account, no one from BT had called. It appears not to be a genuine BT number.
