I jsut had a call from a sweet man give me this whole spiel about Great Ormand Street Hospital. I read in the press that the STAR 9500 smartphone has been found to have a factory installed trojan virus. So I disabled my STAR 9500 and moved the sim card to an old phone. A few days later the old phone reported a missed call and a text message. The message was just this number. I didn t call it back.

Claimed to be Scottish Power. I have no dealings with Scottish Power so assume scammer.

These people phone me and told me they were ringing on behalf of the government - they wanted to know personal health details. Told them to write to me but they just carried on reading from a script and I had to put the phone down

As in the other comment I was told to ring 01642850850 - this is useless. It asks you to give the name of the person and offers no other option. Since I don t know who called I was at a dead end

Constantly ring my home sometimes up to 4 times a day. I am TPS so they shouldnt be calling anyway. Never leave a message as I very rarely pick up numbers I don t recognise. I have called barred several times but they seem to pop up next day with a slightly different number. Who are they?

It s quite easy to negate these types of calls by getting yourself a Call Line Identity phone. If the call doesn t display the name of someone in your tel address book, or shows number withheld, or out of area, or International let the answer machine do the work. You can then block the number or use phone settings to set your preferences - problem solved...
