Man with strong Indian accent called about a supposed accident from someone at my number. I asked who he was calling from, he paused to think for a minute and then said something with accident in the name but it wasn't the same as the 'Accident Legal Advice' one above. Told him I had nothing to do with that company and put the phone down. Clearly a scam.

I always receive most unknown telephone calls altogether over a 24 hour period and then get nothing for 1-2 weeks. Today at 10.30 am I received a call from a man who with-held his number requesting to speak to me by name and I replied to him not known .He was very rude and did not introduce himself when I asked who is speaking. I am moving from BT because of horrific service. I received a short automated message from BT - stating that they were taking over my line. I called to query this. The guy who answered verified my number, but it was not my number. I told him it was not mine and he abruptly hung up. The challenge is how long can you keep these people on the phone - 10 minutes is my record. Calling about my car accident, apparentlty refereed by my insurance compny but then they don t know who my insurer is, eventually I asked for their address --- Caller didn t know postcode and then hung up. The address I got was AMS, Oldham Road, east sussex, Manchester. no id3ea if this is true but it is a Manchester dialling code.

Yes, mine was a foreign sounding man too; said the same thing - that he was from windows and my computer was misbehaving. I didn't say anything but just hung up. i suspect if I had gone along with the scam, I would have messed up my computer.
