Called our company number purporting to be EDF energy, wanting to know our energy suppliers and contract terms. Advised not interested, but the man kept pressing for details in an unprofessional manner. Disconnected call but they called back and then hung up on my colleague.

This number, an automated woman's voice, called my landline today and purported to be the bank saying that they're checking a £600 payment from my bank account to somewhere abroad. Scam caller claiming to be from Virgin. The call was made by an official sounding call centre (the woman sounded Indian). Personnel service manager of the employees offers. Calls 23 times in one hour, even though he has been told that the person he wants to speak to is sick.
This is allegedly 02 network from an Indian call centre. When i spoke to them i said let me call my customer services to verify your phone number they hung up. As it happens 02 didn't answer the customer service line so unsure if a scam number posing as 02. It didn't charge me for the call. I have blocked the number.
I believe this number to be part of a scam. Automated message 're a spend on a visa card. Press 1 to verify or not. When tried to ring no. It was not recognised.
The call was allegedly from Sure Cover to revise my life insurance cover, then they said I was eligible for a better price and they tried to pass me to another department but I hang the call at that point. I searched and I found an article confirming it's a scam.

Mobile phone spam / scam / fraud. Scammers pretend to call from Currys Mobile department. They will sign you up on a completely different deal than agreed initially with the most expensive phone available. They use several phone numbers some of them on Whatsapp. Also will e-mail an order confirmation from an address that seems genuine. It's not. After receiving the parcel they will try to convince you to send the phone back to some shady residential address. Avoid!
