SCAM - said my National Insurance number had been used in Wales for fraudulent purposes, automated recording only asking you to press 1 to confirm your number.

PPI nonsense - called from a local exchange number, thus luring me into a false sense of security! Don't normally answer unsolicited calls
i took the call for someone else on their phone, and asked for more information from the company. Was told it was a personal call, when i could hear it was a call centre. The lady refused to give me any info and she told me thats its okay she will phone on the other number she has, tutted and was rude!

They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. It s Carphone Warehouse Customer Services. They were responding to an issue I had raised with them.
Said they were calling from Carphone Warehouse and offered a very expensive phone deal. Scam and potentially dangerous. Hung up when I asked them to remove me from their calling list.
Probably "international". Number originates abroad but made to look like a UK number.
