It seemed to be one of those calls about mis-selling of PPI claims but it was a person rather than an automated call. I didn't listen for long enough to find out.
Had quote from this company, they have made follow up calls and offer to match other quotes! Don't like that idea they shouldoffer their best deal in the first place.

TAXES / HMRC I just had an automated call from this number where the voice tried to scare you that you are investigated on tax and you will be arrested shortly if you don't speak with the HMRC officer (which they offered to connect with after pressing one).

Ring at very anti social times of the day, quick talking Indian guys who have no idea how to say my name, rude when I refused to spare 1 minute to answer their questions, then put phone down. This number called with message about "every house needs to be done by 2016" plus "we are in your area" last week - some solar panel scam. Didn t answer - the message is recorded on my answerphone. Same message from 01316483485 yesterday - same result. This lot have probably rented fake numbers from a major phone company which offers them on its web site. Some firms offer call centres numbers which give the person called the idea that it is a local call.
