A young Welshman phoned my mobile today. After an unusual and suspicious delay ("Hello? Hello? HELLO?") he introduced himself as representing Winchester and Deakin and said that the call concerned my credit or some such nonsense. TAXES / HMRC I just had an automated call from this number where the voice tried to scare you that you are investigated on tax and you will be arrested shortly if you don't speak with the HMRC officer (which they offered to connect with after pressing one).
Probably building to a scam, claimed to be BT a UK telephone provider investigating illegal activity on my internet, when I inquired as to who might be doing illegal things the caller suggested probably foreigners! The call was made at 7am in the morning to a private number, land line and one only known to family members.

Ring at very anti social times of the day, quick talking Indian guys who have no idea how to say my name, rude when I refused to spare 1 minute to answer their questions, then put phone down. I’ve now started telling them I’m a private detective, an embalmer, at work in a call centre etc & it’s not convenient for me to talk, funnny they hang up. ... fed up of their calls ....
