I was just called by somebody saying they were from UK Financial. The said they had a cheque for me for money i was owed from bank charges. They knew my address then asked me to confirm my date of birth. I told them i was not giving it to them as i had never heard of them. When i said this they hung up!

Said he was calling from the ?Credit Investigation Department? asked me to verify the name he gave me. Then started coughing and spluttering and hung up! Went dead as soon as I answered but this sounds like the same thing as reported on the media with Indian (or Indian subcontinent) scammers pretending to be from spoofing the number of an innocent guy in Wigan who has nothing to do with it.
