Scam call, allegedly from VISA - I haven't even got a VISA card! Claims my card (the one I haven't got) was used for a large spend on Amazon (it's always Amazon, isn't it?). Funny how this is from the same dialling code as mine (01454) so obviously area-targetting, and trying to make it look genuine, like as if it's from a local bank.
Left message on answer phone saying I had transferred £1100 to western union and to press 1 to speak to an adviser this is a scam call
Received today at 16.27 from: 07486 599 597 the following text message, which read, QUOTE: - hey mum I smashed my phone and I'm using a friends phone to msg you their phone is about to die can you whatsapp me on 07553 496 236
SCAM, sent a text asking when they would Get "the documents they were waiting for", with no name expecting to get people to be drawn in. Did not answer. Also my phone provider also flagged this as a scam when I received the text.
Scam. Tried to get me to pay for insurance for an accident I never had then hung up on me immediately when I reinforced that I would not give my details.
Usual asian call center thicko scammer, claiming to be from social housing repair team, ffs, how thick can you get, if you're going to try scamming someone it has to be a believable company and the above certainly isn't that. They don't like being called liars either.

Answered call and voice identified himself as Energy advisor in area and asking to confirm as householder. Feeling polite, I responded yes but do not entertain cold calls and asked to end call. The voice continued making me believe it is voice-activated and not to be trusted. I put the phone down.

Domestic and General asking me if I wanted to have breakdown cover for my fridge freezer and cooker as well as my washing machine ( which I currently have). A bit insistent when I said no, and asked why so when I said ‘because I don’t want to’ she ended the call. It was quite a friendly manner but as above, quite pushy. Scam Indian call centre, says internet is broken and tries to get you to download a remote access computer program so they can take over your computer and then claim a ransom from you. Suggest you keep them hanging on the line as long as possible but don't download anything or give them your details. Just string them along and frustrate them. Then give them a mouthful of verbal abuse when you are ready to hang up. Number was +44 (0) 7444496409.
Foreign accent, said to be from Currys PC World. I'm telephone preference service listed. My phone said potential fraud. I hung up on him.
I got a WhatsApp's message from this number, the person was pretending to be my son. The message said Hi mum this is my new number, my phone broke you can save it. I replyed but got suspicious because the reply to my message was not how my son would reply. I tried ringing the number 3 times but nobody answered. I rang my sons number and sure enough he hadn't changed his number at all. This scammer I have no doubt would have been asking me to transfer money into his account. BEWARE !!!!!
