This number really is the fraud dept of Smile Bank / The Co-Operative Bank, but there is no way that I would reply to texts of this nature - the fact that a major retail bank is sending out texts like this from an unadvertised mobile number is disgraceful. I called my bank on their advertised Customer Services number, and they said that the text was from them. (Their hold music told me to be wary of fraud - such irony!!)

I just received a call from this number with a recorded message which stated that the caller was from HMRC and that a tax fraud case had been reported against my name (but did not say my name) and if I did not press 1 immediately, a warrant would be issued and I would be arrested.
