They called and said it was a confidential matter and wanted my details so I asked for the companies name but refused to give it as this would prejudice the situation so I advise that their is no provision within the DPA 1988 which states that they are not allowed to disclosed their details prior to me disclosing mine.

This is a timeshare type company making offers that seem too good to be true, and you know what they say about things that appear to be too good to be true!!! Claiming to be from Citizens Advice who apparently have been informed about my outstanding debt status. Is this not a gross breach of one of the 8 principles of the Data Protection Act? Scum caller, and yes i meant to write scum.

I have just received a call from a female withe an Indian accent. She claimed to be representing someone who was involved in an accident with me. I said I remembered no accident (I haven t had one!). She said, are you sure? I asked what is my registration? She said she was not allowed to say. I asked her what was my name? She said "sorry to trouble you" and put the phone down as I accused her of being a scam.
