They purport to be a government agency refunding bank fees. My belief is that they are scammers.

another call touting for insurance compensation in connection with another accident I haven t had. And I am registered with the TPS. Obviously unscrupulous.

Just took one of these calls. After reading from a script about a survey, they were polite enough to ask "Are you ready for the first question?". I replied "No!". They hung up :)

The caller new me by name asked me to answer 2 questions to win 5 pounds. Asked me if i used tv shopping channels.Then asked if I had bought anything in the last 6 months from qvc.Or he may have said bid tv,but thought it was qvc although research leads me to believe the same people regularly say its from bidtv. I think the caller can make money off people trying to call back? although i dont know. It could just be aggressive advertizing.

On returning this call it was an automated response saying that as my phone contract was due to expire shortly they could offer info. on new handsets etc. Press 1 to remove from their database, 2 to speak to someone. On entering 1 you are requested to enter your no. then the hash tag. Upon doing this the line went dead. Hopefully I won t now start receiveing lots of Spam!

I just had a call from this number too, claiming to be "D M Experts". The person he asked to speak to, Ben , does not exist on my number or at my address and I have been plagued with calls lately from some company claiming to be something to do with the Office of Fair Trading, who also always asks for Ben , but they have the sense to block their number. I used to live in the 01375 dialling code area but moved away over 2 years ago over 200 miles away! but this number has rung 3 times and I am ex-directory and on the TPS list but they have managed to ring me.

Keep ringing me - saying there was unclaimed compensation money from an accident that happened within the last 3 years. Very convincing - I kept asking if this was a sales call and would I suddenly be asked to pay some charges upfront - asked a lot of questions - I remained vague (I hope). Said I would be hearing from a solicitor called John Cunningham Associates. After I had finished the call I felt very vulnerable in case I had told him something that he could use for other purposes

Called me but left no message on answerphone. After reading comments by JJ and Hurfs have now blocked number. JJ's comments are very useful.

It s Vanquis Credit Card. I live in St Helens so they think that because they use a St Helens Prefix I will pick it up. They ve been hounding me for weeks for ?70. They ve probably wasted more than that in man hours over that period trying to call me.

Seems dodgy because they pretend to be your supplier in order to get your meter readings but they do in fact work for just most if not all of the major energy suppliers and are totally legit

People pretending to be Talktalk to scam you to download teamviewer and then claim to clear crap out of your router to then offer you a refund of £200. They then ask you to go onto your own personal account to login to get refund. All looks nice and pucker but then they try really forcefully to get you to login. I just argued for ever and they hung up.

Name of company was something or other polls. Caller had a heavy Asian accent and I think he has called many times before for different companies. Said he wanted to ask me only four questions about my use of brands but his first question was to confirm my address, at which point I hung up.
