In response to your comment Tony M please dont be so rude as to imply others are uneducated this number is a pain in the arse. They are now ringing my husbands mobile using one of their other numbers 0161 826 5780 all times of day they dont answer you when you pick it up there is always a voicemail message directing you to hold for their accounts dept and they DENY they are workin for Orange when you do get through so check your facts are correct before making rude assumptions about others.

i didn't recognise the number so didn't answer it. Has now called me 3 times in the last 3 days!
Would have written untrustworthy , but I did not answer the call, and there was no message.
The following steps are suggested:
"Jack" called from the "Credit Investigation Department"... I asked which company this "Department" worked for, which at first he wouldn t answer. Eventually he said it was a UK Government Agency... When I pressed him further and explained that I signed up to the TPS and he should not be calling me, he told me to "Shut up and listen!". When I laughed at him and told my colleagues around me what he d just said, he hung up (unsurprisingly!)

In my family we have police officer who has tried many times to call them back but they are courious and won't answer there calls. When I answered there was a short delay then obviously a busy call centre with numnerous conversations taking place. The caller had a very strong Indian accent and it was impossible to understand what she was saying, not helped by the background noise. Typical of many other scam phone calls. I left the phone on but ignored the conversation until the caller closed the line.

I responded to a text advert when I advertised my car for sale. We buy any car offered a quotation if I provide basic vehicle details. They provided an(under)valuation figure to offer to buy your car, I wasnt interested however I was later telephoned by the company to whome I Confirmed I was Not interested in selling to them. The company has since contacted me again three times, they have my contact number from the original add.

Was called up by a scam callcenter that told me that there was a problem with a payout from my life insurance, They had my name and phone number, but everything else was very clearly not legit so not the most professional scam I've seen.
