I am moving from BT because of horrific service. I received a short automated message from BT - stating that they were taking over my line. I called to query this. The guy who answered verified my number, but it was not my number. I told him it was not mine and he abruptly hung up. I called back - the second call handler couldn’t understand the situation and became annoyed and hung up. My phone rung again and it was a scam call centre from abroad offering to cover my washing machine but I was to pay today.

The day after I wrote to PayPal telling them I was taking them to the small claims court this Irish woman called to tell me I owed them £38. I told her she owed me £700 which PayPal stole from my account. She ceased the conversation. PayPal is a fraudsters paradise.

TAXES / HMRC Automated call informing me that HMRC were raising a tax fraud case against me. Instructed me to press 1 to continue. Hung up and blocked the number. Rang HMRC and they confirmed it was a scam.

The challenge is how long can you keep these people on the phone - 10 minutes is my record. Calling about my car accident, apparentlty refereed by my insurance compny but then they don t know who my insurer is, eventually I asked for their address --- Caller didn t know postcode and then hung up. The address I got was AMS, Oldham Road, east sussex, Manchester. no id3ea if this is true but it is a Manchester dialling code.

They said their number was 02032867657. They tried to get me to run something on my computer but I declined. They asked me to run something else to confirm my customer number and I declined again. They said if I didn't comply there'd be a court action against me but I still declined. When they rang off I rang BT straightaway and they confirmed it was not them and they said they would never ask for such a thing.
