Dropped what I was doing & raced downstairs to answer persistent call. Man with an unidentifiable accent garbled something against a cacophony of background noise sounding like the Call Centre from Hell. I asked him to repeat his sentence. He said " can I speak to the owner of the business?" Puzzled, I said " business?" At which point he rudely disconnected the call. No idea why he was asking about a business owner or why he decided not to tell me, or why he had decided on one word that the call wasn t wort

Please press 5 to speak to us". Presumably yet another scam to try and get bank details or name and address

Called to speak to someone else. Told him no-one of that name ever lived here, and I considered his call to be a nuisance call. He then had the audacity to try a sales pitch! Slammed receiver down.
