Was called by 0115 9475670 - pretending money was going to be charged from Amazon Scam number - Indian guy on the phone As soon as I pretended to be happy for them to take the money he cut me off!!!
Called asking for someone by name, who doesn't live at this address any more. I asked, who's calling please? They repeated the name. I asked again, who's calling please? and they repeated the name AGAIN. I then said,. NO, Mr X isnt calling, you are... Who are you? to which they muttered,. This phone number has been an issue with my house phone. This number has appeared on my VM bill for the moths of Oct, Nov,Dec,Jan ,Feb and March before I realised I had not made the call. It appears every 12 hours as a call that lasts less than 1 minute and each call is charged at 39 pence . Does not sound a lot until you add it up over the period of time which then accounts for over £60.00.

'Michael' claimed to be from Microsoft and wanted to know if I was the main user of my computer. Although a Leeds number it sounded very long distance as if was coming from India. I hung up.

Message arrived over WhatsApp - I guess it's now the platform of choice for scammers, as bulk SMS costs money? Suspicious "hi, hope you are doing well" received, and nothing else. I'd suggest do not reply, not even to ask "who is this?", as it's likely a scam. If it was somebody I knew, I'd expect them to use my name and/or identify themselves if they can see we haven't communicated before.
Just used Google enhanced search & it’s from China, telling me that they were my bank and that they’d stopped 2 payments from Amazon & an international company and I was to press my phone to acknowledge it. Obviously I didn’t! Checked directly with bank.

phone call from 01270 102970 to home landline at 1645pm 12/01/2023. Caller had foreign accent . Caller said he was from Sky Assurance as our insurance on our TV is about to expire and offered me various deals at various costs to renew. I have never heard of Sky Assurance, and we do NOT currently have any insurance policy covering our TV. When I asked the caller where he was based , he hung up!
