Scam call purportedly from bank advising of fraudulent credit card transactions which they are blocking. The caller wants you to input a code which they text to you. DO NOT DO SO. If you do they will, no doubt, get access to your account. I put a block on the call number via my mobile phone provider and sent an email to the bank's security dept informing them of the scam.

Amy from Amazon (with an Indian accent and obviously from a call centre) said that there had been purchases of gift cards from my Amazon account and was it me who had made them? I said I would not respond to a call centre phone call and hung up. Checked my Amazon account and there were no recent transactions, so obviously a scam.
There were no less than five calls from this number while I was out. I did not need to be told it was the criminals pestering me again as I have had so many of them. However it was confirmed next day when a call came from a slightly different number, 01614357985. Other sites informed me a large number of people had been called similarly. I've just kept one of their team talking for 12 minutes, saving others from being called by this scam! They claim to be "Road Traffic Management" and that they can get you additional compensation for a RTA you've had. They also claim to have got your details from the MIB (Motor Insurance Database), but when pushed they claim that all they were given was your phone number and the fact that your vehicle had been in an accident in the last five years that wasn't your fault. 100% REAL SCAM ALERT! His name is George Williams. Together with his wife Georgia they are running a scam construction company I ended up working for. Basically what they do is hire you and not pay you what you have agreed on. So far their actions cost them dearly over the money they did not pay me in wages but the real price for their actions is yet to be paid as I no longer take scumbags to court.
