Just had this number call - but I never pick up the phone. Worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. My advice, which works a treat: tell all your real contacts to call you for the first 4 or 5 beeps, then to put the phone down. Called on the half hour (which is a dead giveaway for cold callers) - not payign attention so I hung up. Why do they do it? Wasting my time as well as theirs and I m not likely to answer a second time am I?? (barred call)

Call from sky (obviously it wasn t them) telling me I was using a Sky Dish, asking my age etc and then hung up - Odd seeing as Sky is in my partners name and not mine. Obvious phishing expedition.

Picked up, the line was silent and then started ringing as though I had called the number (I get the feeling this is a reverse charges scam) Someone picked up on the other end after 1 ring said my name then hung up. Number is being blocked - be careful!

Just had a phone call saying I took a loan out in 2005. Wanted to know my bank details so that they could send me a cheque for ppi. A complete con. He became aggressive when I said no. He knew name and address despite being ex-directory.
