Hmrc fraud call.
Appears to be a scam. Claimed it was the inland revenue and a warrant had been issued against me for tax fraud. Find this hard as I am a council employee on PAYE. I also live in Scotland where the tax powers are devovled

Received automated call after attempting to make a payment with my card which was refused. Automated voicemail left this number to call. This number is for the Fraud line call centre in Sunderland. I was wary at first about giving details and voiced this but service advisor said if worried not legit to call number on the back of my card and will be put through to them (not pressured into giving any security info at all). I ve been called by this number 2 afternoons running - I let the answer-phone pick up yesterday but no-one spoke. I picked up today and after a long silent pause I hung up as it sounded like an autodialler at work.
Indian sounding guy calls allegedly from BT. Tells me to go to my computer as he can assist with the virus that has been sent this weekend. Told him I would call out BT engineer if I had an issue, he says no one will come out. I reply I beg to differ - he puts the phone down! Hm - genuine, I don t think so!
