recieved a call from HSBC today. somethin about upgrading the "ordinary" account to "premium". well, I don t like being cold called so I hang up. a day later I phoned HSBC. they told I hadn t been called. so..... question... are the guys at HSBC liars or, and more likely, this call had the sole purpose of aquiring account details and so on, aka phishing.

Missed call from them and i have been getting calls from scammers or random people so it's probally a scam!
Had a feeling this was ADT, haven t confirmed it but the comments seem to strongly indicate ADT. On top of the 0161 code. Just rang now at 3.19 in the morning, about five to six rings before I d even got to it, and then stopped. Alarm not going off, and it is for our house so would like to know why they rang in the wee hours when we re sleeping.
I have just had a call from this number - a man with an Asian accent (possible Indian) asking me about my computer,. saying there was something wrong with it, and he wanted to sort it out for me. I put the phone down, but he tried ringing back twice more.

Ian from some unsolicited energy company telesales asking wanting to speak to the bill payer for the electricity supply. When told we were on the TPS register he kept himself on hold for a minute and said he had reported it to his manager. Well if they were a decent company they should be using the latest TPS register but obviously they are another scamming company flouting ALL the rules. They ring up every week asking if you?ve updated your gas and electric meters to smart meters. This number rang my mobile phone this morning. I didn't answer as I don't answer numbers that I do not recognize. Then I ran a search and found all these notifications of it being, AS I SUSPECTED, a scam number. Needless to say, I won't be ringing them back!
