Called "on behalf of a third party" about an accident they said I had been involved in. Total nonsense. Would not give name or tell me how they had received my details. Beware, this is a scam.

As stated by Max above - The caller said he was calling from British Gas and said they have had technical issues and they need my electricity meter numbers. I work in the energy industry and I am aware they can access this via the national electricity database (ECOES) - as my supplier they are fully entitled to use this. I challenged him and he continued to give excuses. I then terminated the call.

Advertising Scams. Try to get you to place ads on non existent magazines etc. Pretend to record calls so do not agree to anything. Used to use withheld numbers but now resorting to mobiles to get round call blocking.

I have been getting calls from this number and I blocked them on iPhone. Then they call from another number. It s the same people selling insurance or saying you had accident!! They never leave messages, can t call the number back as there is no ring and no one picks up! It s a scam number run by scam group. I am very annoyed because they used my name when they spoke to me. Automated message supposedly from HMRC saying the call is to inform me the inland revenue are filing a case against me and to return the call to discuss. Didn t return call as this is totally without foundation.
