Recorded message said it was HMRC, and I am committing a fraud and I must press option 1 immediately or it would lead to my arrest! Well didn’t press option 1, and I have not been arrested yet!
Was from a Gary Walker claiming to be from my insurance company. In actuality it was from The Cotswold Group who are Private Investigators for insurance companies. This nows seems to be standard practice when making a claim and another method for insurance companies to try and get out of reimbursing you. I have been told by an insurance company that they use a phone based lie detector, which is completely useless. Lie detectors are not admissible in court because their results are not consistent.

Courier / Post office - Received txt message from this number stating originator was Royal Mail advising me to pay unpaid shipping fee to customs by going to https://customsfee.co.uk website which my AV software detected as a deceptive site. Assuming scam territory!
Been getting dozens of these calls since I visited uswitch.com three weeks ago. Whenever I register with one of those sites I always am careful to tick, or untick, any boxes that instruct them NOT to contact me. Haven t received any emails so somebody is selling my details on, or they are just B4stards!

Called today, the lady was polite but had incorrect information about my work history. Said my number had been given through Reactive Media - another company that is rated untrustworthy - no idea how they got my number (I am on TPS). Must have been trying to sell something, maybe insurance, but didn t get that far!

Someone pushing smart meters would actually know that 2G will soon be phased out, and 3G in due course, and there is little point in fitting 2G meters now. 2G meters will have to be replaced. They should also know who is paying to power the meter (not us!) and to understand and be able to provide a VPN for the connection and an RF filter for protection. (PS If offering a 4G meter, they should also know whether 4G cover is available at your location - if not then call their bluff!)

A foreign sounding man introduced himself as John Parker and said I was due for refund of bank charges. I gave him my dob (I recently claimed charges and for a second thought it was genuine.)I would never give bank details and said so. I just said Lloyds bank(not true).He said his boss will phone me today. They called this morn and I didn t answer. Dreading the phone ringing now and worried giving my dob was a dangerous thing. Someone called me on this number this morning twice while I was in a meeting. I called back and someone called Mark answered. I did not give my details but asked why he had called me and he put the telephone down. I rang back but it just rings and rings. They/he has tried to call me a further five times today already(seven times in all) and it is only 3.50 pm. HELP.
