They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls.

Claimed to be "Energy Saving Trust" but it was a sales call for loft insulation. Get these calls frequently; block the number each time then a few days later they ring from a different number.
This phone number is a scam, recording initially saying funds gone from your bank to pay Amazon £500 and also £700 to someone else. Select 2 to talk to someone, sounds like a call centre with an American with a strong accent. They queried my birth date and rang off. Beware a scam.

Got a call from 01997 617418 and he said he was called “Daniel”, obviously incorrect based on accent. He said he was from Curry’s PC World! Stating he was doing mobile phone upgrades. Upon notification of the fact I had already upgraded recently he hung up.

This number rang my Mobile which is only know to a few people. I was told it was HMRC and if i didn't send some paper work i would be liable to prosecution. Told to press option one to speak to some one did so and the person on the end said something like thank you for calling !!!! didn't understand the last bit. 0203 4554638 - this number has called me several times over the last week. She said she was calling from Curry's and "wanted to give me a 30% discount on your account" - clearly a scammer - I hung up - these people should be taken down!
