A cheerful sounding bloke says "This is you're local energy supplier, how are you this morning?" or words to that effect. Had the exact same call at my Mum's the other day, put the phone down in either case, as our real energy suppliers actually have names!

My husband has unfortunately been duped by this company - Clearview partnership. Started with hard sale on Carbon emmisions and he unfortunately has since gone on to invest large sums of money in gems and oil. Portfolio of investment was supposed to go to auction Dec 13. Suprise however - company states had to stop trading as under investigation but investment still safe!! Have since reported to police/action fraud but feer money gone ( life savings). SCAM Call started with a oversees transaction of 600 pound has been attempted was this you giving you the option of saying yes or no. I stated no and was placed to a oversees call centre claiming to be from the Halifax. I stopped the call and told him I will call Halifax direct. He started to say no I am with the Halifax and I ended the call. After contacting Halifax I was told to block the number as it is indeed a scam call. Good luck out there all.
