After doing an online insurance comparison on go compare, they call 2 or 3 time in quick succession until you answer. They are just following up your quotation, but if I do a comparison on line, it s because I don t want the hassle of talking to people like this on the phone. Ironically, they were the cheapest quote but it did put me off a little. I ve still got 2 days to decide and will probably go with them so they don t really need to be doing these "follow up" calls.

It's a company called RTA Legal Advice, looking to help you claim on an accident you probably didn't have....

this company is using loop holes in the system to pay people less than minimum wage by saying your self employed. Their paying people less than minimum wage. That is wrong when your going out there working in the snow 10AM - 9PM and 10AM till 11PM on road trips.. in the snow thats including every saturday (6 days of the week) you have people working these long hours and sometimes they only get paid ?20-?50-?100. Answered call. Nobody responding on the other end with strange ringing noise in background. Has all the hallmarks of a scam or worse (e.g. phone hack). Avoid in all circumstances would be my considered advice.

The guy said he was from Ecosave Power, which, having read the above, was true. However, he then asked if I had received my renewal paperwork, so I asked if he could tell me who my energy supplier was (I have recently changed suppliers, so would not be expecting any renewal paperwork yet). He said he would call me back - I said no, I can hold on, so he hung up. If that s not suspicious, what is?!

Caller claimed to be from Serif UK, the software company. They wanted to do a survey, and when I told them I don t do surveys over the phone, nor do I confirm details someone claims to have about me, they slipped up and said they wanted to do a survey about my household finances, not the sort of thing Serif does. I regularly speak to Serif on other matters and never had this kind of conversation with them. I reckon they were out on a Phishing trip, but they didn t get even a nibble from me.

Just took one of these calls. After reading from a script about a survey, they were polite enough to ask "Are you ready for the first question?". I replied "No!". They hung up :)
