Signed up to a website "Help 2 Buy Windows" claiming grants were available for new windows for energy efficiency reasons. Gave them my home telephone number (a number I rarely give out), address and EMail to allow them to check whether I was eligible. Got EMail stating high volumes were delaying processing, but call this (premium rate) number for instant access to my report. This is a premium rate number, but website states it is a free number. Called and immediately hung up. Did not recognise the number although it appears to be a London-based number.
They drop the call as soon as you pick uip the phone, obviously they want you to call back at your expense. Probably a call centre who have to keep their call numbers up to meet a contract so they call - a call is registered and they get paid whether or not there s a conversation.
Asked me about a recent road accident I had. That's news to me. Apologised and took my number off their list

Scam! - Indian woman saying she was from BT and offering 35% discount and free line rental for 3 months because we are loyal BT customers. We are not even BT customers. She gave incorrect postcode, incorrect address and incorrect name expecting me to correct her... I just agreed. Then wanted to confirm bank and debit card details ... two words from me at this point .... clues are s*x and Travel.
