This is actually Santander. I just had £400 of bank charges refunded by them over the phone and had my online banking on to check the refunded had been made at the same time. They asked for part of my date of birth and address, which they have to do to check the right person answered the phone. Said his company was called Essential which is not one of our suppliers, so admin screened the call, got rid of him and then we looked up the number to check if it was legitimate and found it wasn t. So we didn t call him back to find out what his pitch or spiel might be.
