When questioned how he had seen my details and what details and where he was based he said it was citizens advice in Manchester . I live in Somerset , I said goodbye and hung up. Call came approx. 3 hours after one from 01247 896583 which research suggested SCAM was from people purporting to be from BT.01495 No was a pattern so I picked up and blew my trusted whistle down the phone. Magic! They won t ring again.
SCAM: Second call today pretending to be from Portadown. This time, an automated male voice saying something like ‘Dear customer, there is a purchase of an ipad on your account. If you did not make this purchase press 1 to connect with purchase department.’ Scammers!

Just called me regarding an attempted transaction to John Lewis. Said my account was ‘under attack’ and there had been several suspicious transactions. He said he would escalate my case to Level 3 fraud, set up a new account number and sort code with a random generated name. Phoned Santander fraud department who confirmed my account was safe - the scammer then called me back ‘No Caller ID’! so I told him in no uncertain terms that he was a scamming bastard and he could go forth and multiply.
