At this point I hung up as he was clearly just on a fishing for information and lied about it being a call back. He then tried to call us back but I didn't answer at which point he gave up. This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with PPI, unsolicited call for me.
I've had calls and texts from this number for days, asking for someone named Robert. I've answered twice. The first time, they hung up after I said I wasn't Robert. The second time, I argued with the man on the phone, who told me I'd have to pay £75 for the calls and texts to stop. He also said I need to "keep thinking" if I carried on with attitude...steer clear.
