Phone rang at approx 7.30pm Sat 25 Oct 2014. Answered and said "Hello". An Asian woman asked for me by name, but there was a lot of noise in the background so immediately made me think that this was wrong. If it was a reputable company (who should still be not allowed to make cold calls) it would be silent. I didn t confirm my name but asked who the company was. She said Social UK and proceeded to explain she was doing a survey. I had to talk over her to ask her not to call this number again and then

Thought she had given up but she called again today. This time I flatly refused to put her call through due to insufficient information. She is now getting a senior manager to ring me. Bring it on .....

The HMRC scam has been around so long it has lost all its hair! Disconnect and block the number.

This number called me and when I answered no one responded - must have been cold caller so blocked for future calls from this number.

Automated message in an American voice telling me to call back this number as it s the HMRC needing to speak with me about my accounts & if I don t I will need to speak to my solicitor as I m going to get a big fine if I don t. Do Not call back at any cost. It is a hoax.

I spoke to George at Insure me online. He was actually very professional, and it was to do with a life insurance enquiry that I made online. I did tell him about me Googling his number as I didn t recognise it, and we had a bit a joke about why I would spend my time searching for his number, when it s so much easier to just pick up the phone. ...anyway, he seemed like a nice chap, so my advice to anyone else is just to pick up the phone and see what he has to say.

Called me claiming I called them last year about House insurance, when I told him I had not heard of him and never called them or anyone else about home insurance as I do it all online he got rude and aggressive, I put the phone down. They call here all the time and make unsolicited calls. When I asked the caller to remove my number from the list, they were kind of evasive and had the nerve to ask me why I didn t want to be on their call list anymore. (Which was kind of ignoring the fact that I never wanted to be on their list to begin with, but I decided to let that slip). I told them I wasn t interested - they asked why I wasn t interested anymore, at which point I hung up. I don t respond well to child-like q&a-games!
