This number calls me everyday but never leaves a message. On answering, it is just silent. On calling back, it just rings out.

This does not answer the question who are they!

Their salesman told me lies about getting Government Funding for my windows, and then duped me into giving him my number and subsequently taking an Appointment Card so he could get his commission. When I found this out, I blocked their number. Utterly disgusting.

caller gave his name, company name (which I didn t catch) asked me how I was. I replied that I was wondering how he got my number as I am ex directory and member of TPS. he hung up. no apology, no manners obviously

People pretending to be Talktalk to scam you to download teamviewer and then claim to clear crap out of your router to then offer you a refund of £200. They then ask you to go onto your own personal account to login to get refund. All looks nice and pucker but then they try really forcefully to get you to login. I just argued for ever and they hung up.

4 calls over two days - no answer when questioned - similar tel-numbers (last 2 or 4 digits different) have spam entry

This is a debt collection company. Often long term or aging debt is sold and the purchasing collection agency makes profit by aggressively chasing that debt. They use any data they can get to bug you typically to begin with by using automated dialers and recorded style messages. They do not check the age of the data or if they do they ignore it. The person he asked to speak to, Ben , does not exist on my number or at my address and I have been plagued with calls lately from some company claiming to be something to do with the Office of Fair Trading, who also always asks for Ben , but they have the sense to block their number.
