I have no idea who called me. It rang once. I picked up the phone and the caller was gone. I do not know if this is nuisance call, scam or a mistake. My number and all other ones are recycled. It could be a mistake.

Caller initially claimed to be calling from the University of Sussex, asking me to undertake an online research survey. Then they wanted our email address, and I enquired why was that necessary if the survey was online - all they needed to do was provide me with the web address. The caller later later confirmed they were an independent market research company , and continued to ask for my email address. Of course, I never provided it.

This is a timeshare type company making offers that seem too good to be true, and you know what they say about things that appear to be too good to be true!!! When you ask to be removed from their list they refuse and get abusive. These jokers called me today addressing me as "Mr Steven" I said where are you calling from? He said "Nationwide" I said "Really? Well then you should know that in Britain nobody is Mr first name either just use their first name or Mr with their last name". This confused my thickly accented Indian friend greatly but I think he understood me in the end. This number just tried to obtain money from my elderly mother and was asking for ALL her bank details over the phone for some kind of washing machine insurance.

This number called me and it turned out to be Southampton Audi arranging an MOT. It was odd that it showed up as as a Portsmouth area code though, maybe they use a call center now.

Seems like a blind sales call. Nobody on the other end when I picked up. When I called back line was engaged. Call centre I should think. Now blocked.

After a bit of sleuthing I ve found out that this number belongs to Verso Group, a telemarketing company. You can request to have your number removed from their database via [email?protected] or by calling their customer complaints team on 01582 763 090.
