Automatic message - female voice - claiming to be HMRC who had been "trying to contact me", saying that they are filing a case against me, and asking me to press 1 to speak to my case officer. I didn't. Hung up, dialled 1471 and Googled the number, which brought me here. Bit scary, until I realised it's a scam.

Said "Urgent Tech Assist" has detected malware behaviour on the computer, then remotely connected and started installing dodgy programs. Disconnected him & had to go through a full dis-infection of the computer.

Calling to confirm delivery but were trying to upsell their AO Aftercare Insurance / Protection Plan. I politiely declined but am still getting called on a regular basis at home and on my mobile which I am ignoring.

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing - sometimes energy companies. Did someone answer any number of this range? Is there any reason why companies use line with shared costs for just ringing you and left no message (other than scam...)? If this was a silent call for you, do not call back for any reason! Probably I am wrong with this one but started

Called about 11am this morning. Well spoken female voice with English accent said she was an official energy agent in the area and asked if I still had fibreglass loft insulation. I immediately asked her the name of the energy company she worked for. She immediately ended the phone call. Obviously a scam.

My phones seems to be playing up after inhave answered the call? Has this happened to anyone else?

People this is wild :). Seems to be some call centre working for multiple clients (or fake companies), similar numbers of the same range 016185401xx are already reported with life insurance, car accident chasers, financial management (debts, loans, pensions) - companies Legal Advice, QTS... I have been using the ShouldIAnswer mobile application from these pages, works fine, can stop such calls and also a range of numbers (very useful for call centres). No problems.

I recommend to block the whole 8435507xxx range... People did someone answer this number?

The automated message stated "If you are hearing this message. Your call has been successful". I therefore assume this is a scam (but don't know what the unfortunate consequences may be yet)
