This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range just with last digits different. A common thing - telemarketing mostly uses a range of similar numbers. This one is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, RTA - accident chasers, sometimes called themselves "First Call Group" - just another big call centre. Just block it or block the range, I have been using the mobile application from these pages, works fine, no problems. Blocked

My wife just had a call from this number, asking for payment for money owed to the phone service provider, which she didn't. Then he mentioned two other phones on her account, which she doesn't have. Finally mentioned a misunderstanding when I walked in and started asking questions and put the phone down. Ringing the number back shows its out if service.

Received a call from 01784279719 on 24/08/2017. Asian sounding male asked to talk about my "Windows" PC. So for fun I asked which one? I m an old nerd and have all between Win 3.1 and Win 10, but I did not tell him that! He says "the one running the Windows operating system". It s obvious he is fishing for info! During that time I have had numerous calls from people selling PPI reclaims, claims for accidents I did not actually have (!), a wine investment company a property investment company, and other calls, all of which sounded like scams or telesales speople. The number is presented by Sky but cannot be called back as this was used for an old TV offer as the automated message describes.
Debt collector, I think this is a check up call from Oxford TV licencing Enforcement Division to check if someone aged over 75 and still forced to buy a licence is still alive, The caller asks for you by name and when you say yes they make some excuse about not being able to hear properly saying they will call back later.
