Scam. American type accent called about an accident I supposedly had. I ve only had my phone number for a week and only given it out out my Mum so I guess they re calling random numbers, or all the numbers between two real ones - in either case they don t have the details of any accident.

These guys tricked my 89 year old mother with dementia into buying their "services" on 12 August 2016. I only found out when they called again six days later and spoke to me by mistake. An Indian-sounding "customer service executive" calling himself Patrick refused to cancel the contract or to recognise the statutory cooling-off period. If you speak to these people quote the statute of limitations "Statutes of limitations are written laws passed by a legislative body in common law systems to set the maximum time after an event when legal proceedings may be initiated. When the period of time specified in a statute of limitations passes, a claim can no longer be filed" Statute barred debt refers to a debt that s not enforceable because the time a creditor has to chase payment has passed. This is outlined under the Limitation Act 1980.

got phoned on that number. they hacked my laptop and tried to take out a loan from my bank. wish i knew who they were.

This number is from a nuisance caller. Calls are usually silent, or hang up as soon as you answer. There have been many complaints about this number - one person had 35 calls in one day. When they do answer they fish for information about you without explaining what they need the info for. Don t give them the time of day - just hang up
