called at 16.40, male said he was calling with regards the insurance cover for my washing machine, asking if the machine was fine. Queried this and ask since when had I been paying the policy, he hung up.

Have missed calls from them on my mobile, was trying to dig some info on the internet before calling them back, but found nothing, no luck. People pls did someone answer this number, who is it?

Left a message "connect business solutions who have a direct contract with openreach" whatever that means - maybe they simply have a bt line. As a small business I advertise in Thomsons & Yell, so likely they ve bought my number from them. I suppose it s legitimate cold-calling.
Automatic message - female voice - claiming to be HMRC who had been "trying to contact me", saying that they are filing a case against me, and asking me to press 1 to speak to my case officer. I didn't. Hung up, dialled 1471 and Googled the number, which brought me here. Bit scary, until I realised it's a scam.
